representation of blonde women in media

This video shows how blonde women are usually portrayed in media and why people tend to think blonde people are always dumb, in this video Karen is trying to console her friend about a breakup with her boyfriend, she ends up saying something wrong and having a conversation with cady that makes her sound and look stupid.
in this film Karen usually had a dazed look on her face and wears clothes that make her look cheap, she wears tight and revealing clothes with simple makeup and simple hair. in this video she has the classic stereotypically dumb look.
In all scenes that Karen is in she has a dumb confused look on her face, she has a soft look and talks in a soft tone which puts the impression across that she wants to be taken seriously but doesn't know what she's talking about.
karen is how a usual blonde woman is portrayed.

this is supposed to be a country music magazine, the instruments used are more jazz the layout of the image is perfect for the type of music and the position if the characters are good, we related the layout of the image to the way that dolly patrons videos and concerts look.

i like this picture i think the shot and the props used in the picture suit the theme of the picture, it looks very laid back and very realistic for the type of music that is presented. the background of the picture also links to the music genre.

i like this picture because i like the position of the characters in the picture, the picture is supposed to be a pop music picture but the picture looks more country because of the background and the way it is set out. i think the picture should be more creative.

TINA DIES - Coronation Street

  • At the start of the scene there is a close up aerial view of Tina laid in the hospital bed, this gives you a view of all of Tinas make up and what she is having done to her.
  • then it goes on to a crabbing shot moving between all of the people that have recently been with tine and shows you there reaction to what has happened to her.
  • the focus changes through the crabbing shot between 2 characters they are both close ups and both show the emotions of all.

I have chosen to use this close up image of the character lincoln from the TV programme The 100.
this image is a close up of lincoln so it gives the feeling of tension and shows the emotion on his face.

Make up;
they have used make up on lincoln to make him look like a rough character. they have made it look like he has not washed in a while, he has been sleeping rough and he has been beaten.
He has blood on his face which is make up to show blood which shows he haas been attacked and beaten up.

Costume;
he is wearing a dirty black t shirt which is ripped in multiple places, this shows again that he has no way to clean and he doesn't have many things to wear... it makes him look very rugged.

Lighting;
the lighting in the back of this is very dim this is because the idea is to make the scene seem dark and mysterious because he is begin tortured, the lighting is specifically on him because he is the main part of the scene.

Final Magazine Edit

This is my final design for my magazine.

For this magazine i shrunk down all of the pictures that i took in my lesson and changed them all to black and white, o some of them i up'd the contrast to make them brighter and more noticeable than others, the black and white background came from an effect that i put on one of the pictures,

one thing i think could be improved is the layout of the heading and slogan, for example to be able to see the writing, it has to be three different colours. it would be better if you could have one colour and read the writing.

SCRIBUS

Now i have been on scribus, i don't really like it, i don't understand it and find it quite hard to use, i don't particulally want to use scribes on my magazine as i hunk it will take me longer to create it than if i just used photoshop.

Scribus

Today i am testing the programme scriber to play around and see what i can do..

A close up is when the camera is shoots half a person from the shoulders up or even loser. this is to create tension and show the emotion in the persons face.

here is an example of a close up on a picture;

And here is an example of a close up in a film with a bit more information click on the link below;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp26Iv4B47A

A close up has an effect of tension to the reader.
A pan shot is an effect that makes the back ground blurred and the focus still object to make a pan shot you move the camera to the left and right to while the object that your following is moving. you can also pan an object, an object can be moving when the background is still this will only work if the object is moving at a fast pace.

Here is n example of a pan shot as a picture;

To find out how to make a pan shot search for this video;

This is my final edit for my holy trinity magazine, there are still subtitles and other pictures to go on to brighten it up, but this is my final edit for my main picture.
I made this using the lasso to cut out the image of Lauren i then deleted the background and used the edit tool to change the effect and look of the picture, i used the feather tool and changed the px to 10 when i cut out the picture this made the outside of the picture not look as sharp and blurred it into the white background.

Thursday 11 September 2014

I have learnt how to crop an image using the lasso tool on photoshop, i have also learnt how to make the edge of the image lighter by using the feather tool.
